Navara safety fears

The NCAP tests have shown that the Navara has poor structural integrity especially the chassis.

 

It does not look good for tradesmen who have bought this 4 x 4 expecting a strong vehicle capable of going off-road and pulling trailers every day. A weak chassis can cause all kinds of problems with the drive shaft, steering, vibration.

 

Its a dead duck.

I understood from Radio 4 this morning that Navara and Rodeo were okay under the commercial rating but the domestic rating was 1 star. The worry was that more people are using these cars as their domestic ride and not as a tow tug/works vehicle. The Navara can have a software update tho.

 

Why the domestic car rating is different to a works tug is different they did not say.

 

One simple answer is drive aware and cut down the risks of an accident.

Just sent mine in today to have a manufacturers update fitted to the airbags.

 

Plus about 8.30 tonight a car coming of a slip road hit me side on doing about 40. the Nissan was hardly damaged but his Mondeo looks a write off.

I can't see Nissan not checking the safety of their vehicles before they go into mass production.

 

Most probably its a case of sore loosers ie Mitsubishi, Toyota, backing such findings..

 

Mitsubishi, for one, scored higher on the safety issues than the Navarra, therefore they cant be sore losers.

My Navara finally got picked up this morning to get repaired. I've been given a mitsubishi L200 animal as a loan car. Bring back my Navara soon this new L200 is terrible!!!

My brother just had a side swipe in his navara too, an old dear didnt stop at a give-way, it took out front corner, wheel, sidestep and all panels down one side, and, the airbags didnt go off!

 

When i asked him what the old dears car was like he replied with one word...........you can imagine!
