Cs39 And Cs46 Whats The Difference

Just looking at the NPTC site for some information and noticed there appears to be a new schedule for CS46 Pollarding, on looking at this it does'nt appear any different to CS39, surely this could of been added into the CS 39 sylabus.

I fully agree with training and think on whole the NPTC training is the way forward for all with in reason, but surely this is just extorion of money from people when the actual courses are basicaly just the same.:cussing::cussing:

I wondered what the Re-pollarding unit was all about too. When i looked at the assessment schedule i noticed it was jabbering on about aerial rescue, which totally confused the hell out of me! Has anyone out there done the Re-pollarding unit, CS46? I have never ever seen it asked for in job advertisements!

the re pollarding unit was done for EA lads i believe

as this unit is more a stand alone specific to heights of 5metres

otherwise lads would have to do cs 38 39 and probably 41

Thats my belief hope that made sense

SO CS46 IS ONE OF THOSE UNITS NOBODY HAS, LIKE CS43 AND 44 - FELLING UTILITY POLES AND FELLING STANDING STEMS!?!?! SURELY IF I WANNA FELL A STANDING STEM THEN CS30, 31, 32 AND 33 WILL ENTITLE ME TO DO SO!?!?!?

What are AE or E/A? I'm gonna feel silly when u tell me i bet, but i really don't know what it means! :-(

BOB...... are you an assessor? someone on here said u might be able to assess me for CS47 - Chainsaw from MEWP?????? Can ya? I'll PM ya anyway!

So has anyone got this odd CS46 unit? IMO... a pole rescue should be a compulsory part of the climbing and aerial rescue unit (formely CS38 - thats what i still refer to it as like most people!) Its crazy how legally a newly qualified aerial rescuer can be my rescue climber when i top out 80ft. pines all day next to a road on a site clearance job, and my potential rescuer has never tried spikes on his feet - i'm basically f£*ked if i need rescuing! One improvement i would definatley like to see to NPTC system!! Or another unit CS49 maybe.... "pole rescue", specifically dedicated to a pole rescue!! What are peoples opinions?

Back to the Re-polarding...............Come on CS46 holders...... lets hear from ya!!!
