If you could choose one saw that needs a tune up....

Prob a MS200T but I doubt it would be very practical.

 

A 200T responds to modifications very well .

 

The easiest thing to do is pull the baffle plates .In addition to that which few do is to remove the tabs or directional tabs from the interior of the muffler halves .

 

A 200 does not really have what's called a true pressure can but is more a baffled muffler type . By removing the baffle plates in addtion to making the internal less restrictive you alse create another hole .

 

My 200 has had a lot more done to it than just a muffler job but that's another story .

you're all wrong the saw to do it to is the 066.... it can be fitted with anything from a 18" bar to a 36" bar and its reasonably lightweight. Thats a true all rounder. if there were two saws i couldnt live without its the 200 and the 066

200 460 660 880, the two id like to see performance upgrades in most would be the 200, but also the 880, id guess the 66/88 would be the easiest because of their size

I`d say husky 357xp. The saw has tons of power already with even more on an 18 inch bar it would rip

I'm interested because I have a few years experience tuning two-strokes and frankly the exhaust design on saws has more in common with a 1950 DKW than a modern Aprilia.

 

Drilling holes in a flawed design will not help much, the shape is just wrong.

 

So, if I fancied designing a proper pipe for a saw, which one would be most popular ?

 

Bear in mind that the pipe would be a fair bit bigger than standard and might need some awkward routing - otherwise the manufacturers would have done it themselves - I won't pretend to be better at this than the manufacturer so specialist applications might be required.

 

Any ideas ?

Most people on this side of the pond gave up on those little pipes about 5 years ago . Besides that one coming out the left side will burn the hide right off your hand .

 

Looks cool yes but doesn't work as well as just larger ports on the right side,minus the pipe .
