Fitted a brand new sugi hara bar and chain today on a husky 550. The same bar and same chain has been fitted to another 550 and works fine but for some reason today it just wasn’t cutting through anything bigger than 4”. it seems as if the chain it pulling away from the bar when is being cut through the timber. If anyone has any ideas or this has happened in the past then I would very much appreciate any input.

Thabks in advance.

Is it oiling ? If the worm gear is worn / damaged it can still oil a little and seem ok until you take off the bar and run without the side cover and see if all is ok i.e. a good stream of oil !

So you have eliminated the bar and chain you need to look at the particular power head that it wont work on . Is the drive sprocket worn > is it oiling properly , is there crap under the bar mount etc etc etc
