Lad at our place was blocking a cherry down and as he was sliding his climbing line down it got caught on a little twig and he didn't realise. He actually cut below his hitch but slid the hitch over the cut for some reason?!

It is mate yeah. It's from a batch before they changed the construction so not too bad to splice. The new stuff is an absolute pig! I keep meaning to buy some so I can play about with the taper.

To be honest I'm not entirely sure? I think in the new stuff they have used one less strand in the cover to tighten it up. So when you take your usual amount out on the taper the new core is thinner than the existing one If that makes sense? On the other hand if you leave one extra strand in on the taper it's almost impossible to do the crossover.

 

Need to speak to nod in more detail about it as I know he's had trouble with the crossover too........which is saying something! Haha.
