If you get a traffic management co to do the work it will be trible doing it yourself. You need to fill in a part n form and send it off to dcc. Its not on there web site either ask them for it direct or I can email you one. Takes about 3-4 weeks to go through and its free. I get my lights from Amberon for about 200 a week

If you do it yourself you need to have the chapter 8 qualification and apply to LA for permission to erect temp. traffic lights. You may also have to apply for a Road occupancy permit which in my area is free if you occupy the road for less than 24 hrs. I got Lux in recently to do the lights for me (£350 per day) but usually do it myself.
