Any musos out there with an AC 30cc2 ?  I have just bought some Celestion  Anlico  12 " Blue back speakers  to fit in my amp .  I am assured they are British made and not the new Chinese made ones .  The Wharfdale OEM speakers are not bad but wanted a more 1960 look/tone . Any one else done this ?

I’m under the impression that alnico Blues are British made, but the new AC30s come with the Greens which are far eastern. Iv not compared the two- but tone is die for with the Blues.

Actually the " new " Chinese made AC30 came with Wharfdale speakers for about 2 years . Wharfdale were charged with emulating the 1960s Celestion speakes and did a fair job of doing so .  However they are  not  Blue backs . The trick is to get British made blue backs and not recently made far eastern blue backs which look the same but have a different cone material , so I am informed .

Mine is in a birch ply cabinet and not an MDF one that some recent models are .

Ah right- I bow to your knowledge, I didn’t realise that their was a Chinese version of the Alnico blues- I looked into it a few years back as an option on the AC15 and thought it was British over Chinese Greenbacks. Looking at new AC30s sold now, the AC30c2 uses greens as standard and the AC30c2x has the blues.
