Hi,

Does anyone on here have a link to or can advise on specific required PPE when using hand held powered hedge trimmers, say a Stihl HS82? Today we were picked up on not having chain saw arrest trousers on by a H&S expert?

Any help much appreciated.

Paul.

I would refer him back to the suitable and sufficient training he received when he started overseing the use of this type of equipment.

Clearly the PPE does not benefit from chain blocking material as a hedgetrimmer  is lacking a chain.

Stihl do some brushcutter/hedge cutter trousers that you put foam inserts in the knees, shins, thighs. Not sure how good they are though. Don't think they'd stop hs82s though, as my tripod ladders have a few notches in them :blushing:
