Won’t cut straight- new bar and chain??

Both bar and chain are brand new and made half a dozen cuts so not my sharpening at fault. The cutters all look even to me too.
The chain matches the bar as it’s 95TXL in 0.050.

Ill re-tension and try again tomorrow, ran out of daylight to try today.

The bar is like a banana as soon as the chain tension stops pulling it straight.

Must be faulty manufacturing or damaged during delivery.

Will see what chains direct do about it!

If there " damage " to the bar is not evident  yet ( un even bar rails caused by chain  pulling to one side ) remove the Husqvarna made original powermate and replace it with an Oregon one . Another quick check wou;d be to turn the original owermate round on the spline and see if it "bananas " the other way . I think there may be a problem with the OEM  rim .

Ok thanks I’ll turn the powermate round first. Turning the bar over didn’t change the direction of banana I don’t think.

Could it be something else? Have you checked your needle bearing, clutch springs? Maybe more than just the bar and chain.

And the sprocket, possible wear.

It’s not done a great amount of work to be honest so I’d be surprised but I’ll get all those checked out.
Oregon are happy to take the bar and chain back fir testing and replace under warranty but I’d best make sure it’s not my saw before I waste the postage!

Would a 18” bar show sprocket or needle bearing issues more than a 15” bar?

I still think it is a problem with the powermate . A bad batch .............

So I just went to take the spark plug out so I can stop the piston coming up to take the clutch off and the spark plug was loose as buggery. Took a good 3 or 4 full turns to put it back in. Then when to wind it out and it went really stiff as though it had cross threaded. On closer inspection the final thread is damaged slightly. Weird!

 

I've never touched it from new so god know whats happening there! Still not managed to turn the power mate over. Will have another go tomorrow when i've got a new spark plug!
