Not sure the factory are going to be too pleased with these posts on a test saw, people given the chance to test a pre production saw should not go showing it everywhere, and as for altering it!!

Exactly my point! Better vetting required I think

As this is already out there now, how does it compare to the old t425 or is it a different machine? Unfortunately I have no info on this saw even though I have had to pre order some. It would be nice if us dealers could get a heads up once in awhile. Especially as it interests me.9_9

Usually we are the last to know, I have to watch AT to find out the latest info xD

Completely different machine with a  new engine

Surely its better to alter a pre production model prior to it entering production.  At least then some of the most obvious kinks get ironed out?

It’s not yours to alter though. Saying that it’s already been changed onto 3/8 but there’s a reason for that.  standard production will be 1/4 so your not getting a true trial anyhow

Totally fair comments, but, people are going to change saws when they come out.  Surely better for the factory to get some ideas on how they'll be changed and how the changes will affect it before it enters production?  Should be part of R&D should it not?  Forgive me if I've missed something, but are we not only talking about adding a set of dogs?

Perhaps they want to keep it under wraps

True but as we need to invest in the product, try to market it and answer customer queries it is difficult when all ive got is, it comes with a 10" bar, 25cc engine and weighs 2.7kg. :) Plus when I do a bit of googling some of those specs seem wrong!

We are supposedly getting some in in Jan, will be interesting to see what its like but if it doesnt beat the echo or at the very least be on par with it then its going to be a big flop.

Cheers for the info.:thumbup1: I never have had any dealings with the T425 but have had quite a few owners of that machine asking about this new one.

If you can divulge, why do they not need to bother with autotune on the smaller saw? I thought all 5 series were getting the AT treatment!
