So a few days ago I bought a used 026 off eBay (thanks in part to the help on here) and got around to using it for the first time today.

After using it fine for about half an hour it's now having trouble starting. It started happening when I was putting it down and letting it idle for 15-30 seconds, it'd cut out/stall. Then it wouldn't start at all. Now it'll start and idle when it's on "warm start" but once I blip the throttle and the master control goes to run it dies.

Hoping I haven't been sold a dud :(

Any help appreciated!

You may consider the following......More than likely with the 026 its ether "fuel pooling" at idle from the L jet ...or the L jet is to lean . Its common on both accounts with the 026...260 . Pooling is the more likely cause and will cause a hard start if it stops as its like a micro flood out. The carb settings ..Can.. be small amounts to get it right.

If you fiddle with it the seller will almost certainly not refund you. I been stung like that a while back when the seller asked me to check spark then refused to have it back as he said I'd taken it to bits

What a bastard!!

Boggles the mind doesn't it.....had to buy a new coil for £90 quid or something.

In fairness if I sold someone a saw, they said it didn't work I'd be hesitant about having it returned after they'd pulled it to bits diy style. What was harsh was there was a trail of eBay messages with his instructions of what he wanted me to check etc.......water under the bridge though.

Hope you get sorted with the 026 either way pal!
