You'd get a decent TD5 Discovery for that money.

I like land rovers they are great when they are working:)

I've run one for 10 years now.  

Expect 25mpg.  

Great for towing.  

You'll need front wheel bearings if they've not already been changed, (easy job)

Get underneath as they are bad for chassis failing, I've welded mine and now treat it yearly with Dinatrol.

Peter,  We looked at one 3 or 4 years ago & decided against it for a car, we felt it was to much like riding in a Nissan pick-up that had been " Seriously Pimped " on the back end.  Nissan pick-up lovers please don't pull me to bits they are not bad as a pick up.
