Nissan Pathfinder?

Recommended Posts

The missus is thinking of getting one with a budget of up to £5k. What should I look for? What are they like as a daily? What is the RFL? Any decent alternative?

Avoid! A mate of mine bought one new 10 years ago 120k on clock and ready for the scrap heap! Services properly and a pile of junk. Newer ones supposed to be better but probably over your £5k budget

My mates mam had one and virtually had to tow a diesel bowser with her.

If you are going to do that might as well go the whole hog and get a Nissan Patrol !  Go on for ever .

Our old 1998 Nissan Patrol  was a workhorse .

Although it was a bitch to start when warm .

If you are gonna get one Pete, make sure it is the 10 plate facelift version.  The earlier version is prone to the con for failure that hampered the Nissan navara.

No idea how much one of those costs though.

From my experience A shogun at that money will be better on fuel, better reliability, and a good work horse when needed but still expensive rfl

that said the pathfinder are nice trucks “when” working right

post 10 pathfinders are cheaper RFL you will get about 30-35 MPG if you pull a decent size trailer it will go down to 25 MPG they are quite a big buss and 7 seats  but you will not get one on your budget. kier and Hyundai are ok worth a look at I had a H terracan for 5 years with not too much problems but they do not make them any more
