Help me choose a tracked chipper

I'm looking for a used tracked chipper, minimum 8" but prefer 9 or 10.

I've always had PTO chippers but I think tracked will be better for ground impact.

Seeing alot of Safetraks about for sensible money, are they decent? I've not used one before, I did repair one a while back and it was a bit of a pain!

Otherwise any others to look out for, or that anyone knows? missed a Shleising MX330 that I rather liked the look of.

Ideally looking to keep under 10k because it will only get maybe 100 hours a year! But for a good machine it can stretch....

I bought a safetrac 1928 earlier this year for under 10 grand, its a bit rough around the edges but chips brilliantly and is the best machine for tracking I've ever used! That said if I had the money I would have bought a younger machine with less hours. Beware a lot of safetracs have had a hard life on the railways!

Safetrak 19-28's are a great machine with an excellent tracking system. One for 10k will have done plenty of work mind and will be showing signs of wear especially if has been on a rail contract.

That said if you find one and it tracks well, legs all work correctly, flywheel end engine is running smoothly with no real signs of damage around the chip chamber then you couldn't ask for more for your money
