the gloves are really good yve, not as tough as the gill ones i got as they are leather, but they are warmer. I dont know how waterproof they will be, i think they will absorb and then rely on hand temperature to keep them warm. They will get a trial on the mini digger this week, mine doesnt have a cab and it is baltic outside lol

They shouldn't let any water in because:

"SealSkinz® socks and gloves use a type of membrane called hydrophilic ("water loving"). Hydrophilic membranes are totally solid, without pores. It is therefore physically impossible for droplets of liquid water to pass through the membrane, however, it is breathable because water vapour molecules are transmitted from molecule to molecule through the membrane on the polymer chain and expelled on the other side. The driving forces are the differences in humidity and temperature between the atmospheres on each side of the film.

The internal climate, next to the skin, is hot and humid because the body is generating heat and moisture as it exercises. The external climate is much drier and cooler. Consequently water vapour is driven from the inside of the garment to the outside. As the foot or hand gets hotter during an activity, so the film becomes more efficient at expelling moisture".

i see someone on another thread is interested in the seal skin gloves, i have only been wearing them doing general chores, they are really warm, i now have the seal skin hat, which is excellent, the weather up here is now gone frosy compared to the usual monsoon, i am mostly sitting on a mini digger tomorrow with out a cab in an exposed area, so the seal skinz will be getting a whirl on the levers, we all know how cold you can get just sitting about, i have been wearing the gill sailing gloves for the last few weeks and they are really good, i will report in tomorrow. Thanks again to clarks for the gloves and hats, great service and price.

well it was baltic today and a freezing cold wind, the van said 4 degrees but the wind where i was working made it a lot colder. Anyhoo, the sealskinz are excellent, roasty toasty hands all day, i even hand balled some logs, approx 2 ton, i thought they might take a bit of a bashing, but no probs there and i still managed to jump in and out of the tractor and van and not have to take them off for keys and buttons and switches. Proper job:thumbup:
