Ms200 clutch cover melting

Seen a few of these melted around the brake. Seems common. What's the cause?

 

Don't think it's just running it with brake on

Looks to me like it been getting chain jammed, or not cutting at full power.  Clutch slipping causing the actual clutch to heat up and toast the cover.  There's no swelling around the brake band at all so it's nothing to do with the brake.

Is it the cover melted or is it chip getting hot and fusing to the plastic ? I've seen it on a few different saws and it scrapes off like a dust with the plastic still intact underneath.

It s the plastic directly opposite the clutch. Def melted plastic blisters not chip. Hasn't happen to my 200 but seen it on a few others

One is a carving saw so unlikely to be chain jam.
