My way of looking at it is have a smaller saw and save putting the wear on the big saw

You can buy a small saw for under £200.
A big saw cutting small logs? Wear shin pads.
And a box.
A small saw milling just kills it.

Ah right everyone seems in favor of 2 saws lol 

yeah I guess a little 181 wouldn't break the bank I'll just use the 661 for planking and cross cutting big stuff. Do you lads use ripping chain and has anyone ground everyday chain a 10 degree to make a rip chain. Iv often contemplated it because granberg chain costs a fortune but iv go lots of older chains I could modify to 10 degrees

3/8 Or 404 ground to 0 degrees, 10-15 degrees is faster but less clean finish.
Go slow on the grinder when taking the point off.
