Ms 201t retune

I just had to fit a new handle to my 201t and when I refitted the carb it was running at full chat on idle. I backed all the screws off to do a carb re set but now can't get it to fire.

everything I read says seat the screws in their thread and then back off one full turn and once running fine tune it. I can only get 3/4 turn out of them and still not able to get it running. Any carb gurus who can give me some help in how to re set and tune the carb would be much appreciated

Yeah all the guts are back together ok. It was running after but i had it up the tree to chop down a pine and it was just flat out after making the first cut once I let go of the trigger hence trying to re tune and re set the carb

As johny says, sounds like some of the linkage not properly assembled and has come apart

On these carbs, the screws are generally fitted with limiters. You may have fitted the carb and missed the impulse line and now you have an air leak. Just fitting a new handle shouldn't make any difference to the carb set up. I would remove the carb and try refitting making sure the union between carb and impulse is 100%.

In the unlikely event that your carb has been delimited, H screw 2 turns out and L screw 1 turn out will get it going again. It is most likely the L screw is turned in too much if it isn't starting but as I said, fitting a new handle won't change the characteristics of the saw unless you have messed up the linkages or impulse line union.
