What's the rub with not and car tax? Anyone run old stuff for fun? The tax is due on my 1948 hot rod and told it needs an MOT!

What history?

There's no way for anyone to know if it was taxed or SORNed since they abandoned tax discs.

Really.

My old Scooter shows as SORN. Have I missed something?

You can find out the current status of a vehicle here

https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla

If a vehicle is not taxed it will say when it last was.

There's another for checking mot history as well.

Yes I know you can find out if it is taxed now but you can't find out if it was taxed a year or two ago so what exactly do you mean by "history" then?

Does history mean is it currently taxed?

Anyway, DVLA are the people to get in touch with over such matters as MOT requirements for taxing historic vehicles.
