Gorse Clearance

Recommended Posts

I have a large area of Gorse to clear of varying ages/heights. It is on a SSSI heathland so all the materail has to be taken off site. Has anyone got any suggestions to go about this?

I have already thought of:

- Chainsaw then chip

- Chainsaw then burn

- Forest mulcher and then use a digger to scrape off all the arisings etc (would this work?

Does anyone else have any experience thoughts on how to go about this horrible task??

Cheers in advance

Parker

what about a box of swan vestas and the sun

have you to remove it so it wont grow back? i cut some right to the ground a year ago and its starting to come back. mulchers probibly your best option if its a big enough site :001_smile:

It doesnt matter if it grows back as we want gorse of varying ages - its going to be cut on rotation every couple of years.
