Parts indentification and replacements..?

Hi guys. I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on parts replacements. I'm going to sell this chainsaw on but before i do i think it's best i replace the bar and chain.

 

Not looking to splash out mega bucks just a safe replacement and for my own peace of mind. I couldn't live with myself if i sold this on only for the next guy to come to some harm.

 

The chain on the saw at the moment has too much side movement in the bar for my liking. I'm not even sure if the chain and bar are compatable. Unfortunately i dont know how to scrunch the numbers. So if i left you guys some detials..ie, numbers and names could someone take the time to advise me firstly on a new bar and chain and then maybe some details on the old bar and chain...I'll post below a Bar i think would do if indeed i have run the numbers correctly..???

One of our members already stated it's a Chipmaster but i got confused when reading a ID table on Oregon chains. (couldn't find a Chipmaster chart)..

 

Number 25 on the Oregon chain chart says it's a 1/4" pitch where as this old CM chain is a 3/8 pitch or should be. I measured the pitch and it came in at 19mm then i divided x2 to give me 9.5 mm = 3/8...I think?

 

The Sprocket is 8 tooth 3/8" on the chainsaw itself. Defo.

Please bear in mind i'll be replacing the chain as well so any help on chain replacement would also be appreciated.

If its the saw in your other post you are selling I wouldn't bother, a new bar and chain will cost more than the chainsaw is worth,

Tell it like it is, I would chalk that one up to experience and get on with it. Keep it as a curio or a reminder and get something usable. You can get a new Husqvarna 236 for £123 if you just want a cheap saw.

And if you must get a new bar don't get another hardnosed bar . Get a sprocket nosed .
