Are Saturdays classed as a working day?

Got me van in for a retest today. The garage want to charge me for a full MOT, It failed its MOT on the 25th of May. I took the van away from the garage to get the work sorted out. The Gov. website says 'If you take it back within 10 working days it only needs testing on the things it failed on', or words to that affect. The garage only opens between 08:00 and 13:50 on Saturday's.

Remembering there was a bank holiday surely I only need the partial test?

That's only 9 working days since the test (including Saturdays) after 25th May.

It's the 10th day even including the Bank Holiday.

Get down there and beat em up. If you really care you can probably talk to trading standards or go on-line to the appropriate Gov site.

As a last resort you could politely explain their error to them.

Failed on the 25th, so assume the 26th (friday) is the first working day thereafter.

Monday 29th - Bank holiday Non-working

Tuesday 30th -Friday 2nd = 4 w.days

Today would be the seventh full working day after the test, or the eighth if they count the day of the original test.

Within ten working days whichever way you count it, shirley?

Must have had an app on her phone to work that out, or did she take her shoes off to manually add it up?

We can laugh about it, what else can we do?, but it goes deeper.

I forgot to take the Refusal Certificate with me. The Garage had to ask ME what it failed on so that they could retest it.

My Gahst is Flabbered at times.
