So what's going on here then, animal damage to the tree? Is the cage to protect from further damage or to support the tree somehow?

 

Photo taken in Italy so could be anything!

Probably to prevent drunken arbs on holiday trying to impress their girlfriends. :001_smile:

 

Not sure that will work, it looks pretty easy to climb :biggrin:
