So it seems there's 2 main choices;

  1. super tough but basic phone, or
  2. a mobile office with a phone on it (that you have to keep in a box!).

Do those of you who have email and internet on your phone find that you use them very much? Has owning a blackberry changed the way you've been able to manage your work?

:turtle:

BB has definitely changed the way I manage things, from emailing pics and details straight to the council, emailing the clients who work in the city with pics of layouts b4 planting and so on. It certainly speeds things up. I can do 90% of my "paperwork" during the day now instead of in the evening.

What about this new "rugged" Nokia that's about to come out? Nokia Europe - Nokia 3720 classic - Products

Doesn't look that tough, but there are plenty of videos in UToob of people throwing them in water or running over them (an average day on an arb site, then).

I'm going to order one this weekend, so by monday I should be able to report how I managed to smash it into little pieces.

Maybe I'll get Mr Ed to drop it into my pint (again).

I've been put off the Landrover type phone, although it sounds good and has a 3 year unconditional guarantee, a friend of a friend apparently has one and I hear it's been sent back a few times already.

Thanks Andy, I think I'm going to have to take a closer look at them.
