GL-5 will kill travel reduction gear that is specked for GL-4 in a matter of days.

I'd go out right now and change it.

Really?.... I've read forums where people have said its fine, they use it all the time, etc.

cheers, steve

Steve if the reduction box has no brass or bronze bushes and is running on bearings you will be ok, if on bushes run the GL4 as :egg: suggested .

Bob

Hi Bob, thanks. I haven't got a clue what's inside!.... so will buy a pot of GL4 and change it. Hasn't been driven anywhere since I put the GL5 in so no problem.

cheers, Steve

What's the difference between GL-4 and GL-5? ....I've just put GL-5 in the travel reduction gear on a mini digger but the manual specifies GL-4. Should I change it again? (80/90w)

Tried searching on the internet but the advice is very varied and not sure what to believe??

cheers, steve

GL-5 has a good dose more sulphur in it as the EP additive. Destroys bronze and brass...
