How do I build a client base? - countryside & garden services

Those numbers are quite a hike from the day rate i previously have worked for, I'm aware that I've got tools and insurance etc to cover. I feel that asking for more is greedy until I've built a decent client base

 

You're right and you're wrong!

 

The problem with starting at a low rate is that the clients you get will always want to pay that rate and will leave if you up it significantly.

 

It is hard starting out, you will underprice things, just try to keep it to a minimum. Otherwise you're just a busy fool.

When you do underpriced stuff think of it as a learning experience. I reprice most jobs in my head after they've been done to teach myself to price better

I cannot think of numbers after I've completed an underpriced job, it will only make me more bitter and angry with myself.

 

I just try to remember the feeling when pricing something similar.
