Small chippers

Hi,

 

I'm just getting started and need to get chipping to help on job clean ups. I can't yet afford a big thing and struggle to warrant one as I log most timber over 3-4" anyway...

 

I've found this that seems to look good and will cope with what I want but wondering if anyone has a view or experience with such sized chippers?

Cheers Steve! Looks like someone has one and thinks it's ok! I'm not expecting miracles from it TBH just something to get me started.

Any chipper is better than no chipper, and providing you handle it within its parameters they will work just fine. Nothing more ridiculous than watching someone trying to force something clearly too big into a chipper. See it time and time again with people even feeding 6" machines. Slow down, prepare the timber to chip, and you're have a far more relaxed and less frustrating days work

I read the threads on this forum to death. Finally got a 2nd hand Timberwolf for £1650. It hasn't missed a beat in the 6 months I've had it. I was looking at cheap, less well known new ones but reports were mixed. I was apprehensive about buying 2nd hand but spoke with a local dealer and they said they would be able to service it for me. Definitely made the right decision.

I bought one of these and it's performed flawlessly. Can't praise it highly enough!

And at this price, it pays for itself in no time.

I bought one of these and it's fair to say I'm very impressed with it! it runs all day long and gets through a lot of timber!

 

It's not so keen on some wood but then you just have to listen to the engine and be a bit more sensible! Next step will have to be a big 8" job that's not gravity fed though
