If I buy a 1951 tractor that comes with a v5 certificate can I take the reg number off the tractor and put it on my 2009 plate car?

No,welcome to be corrected though, laws may of changed etc

Not to do with having an MOT, just look on the bottom of the V5, first page, it will say 'Not transferrable'.

Generally applies to all ag vehicles and some cars too. I've seen it on several motors I have been through (used to be a van dealer)

Yes it is.

You cannot transfer a plate from ANY vehicle without MOT.
