Conifer hedge removal

I think mr Humphries has TPO'd an elder.

Notice that you class a hedge as being trimmed 2-3 times a year. In the less affluent north, a hedge may be lucky to be trimmed every 3-5 yrs, so we have significant hedges/trees fairly frequently. Trimming 'new growth' may involve knocking 5-6m offs

So it's a case, in CAs particularly, of reducing 'trees' back into a manageable hedge size - until the next time, when it all starts again.

As usual there's confusion and conflicting advice on what should be a simple issue. Gotta love British law! Personally, I'd just email the TO with a photo and go with what they say (even though it's pretty obvious that the hedge won't be TPO'd). Here anything over 75mm at GL needs notification regardless...

Hi, "fair comment," however not sure it's British Law per se but interpretation of guidance and opinion on what is a tree?

When you say 75mm at GL (ground level) is that the case as usually it's measured at 1.5m AGL (ABOVE ground level)?

Cheers

Paul
