be careful with these people had one the other day that called the police and made a complaint that i had threatened him with a chainsaw. all my guys could vouch for me that this was a lie but the whole thing took 3 hours to sort out all the time i was still paying my crew. before i start a job now i knock on all the neighboughs doors and let them know what im doing that way you soon work out if some one is anti what you are doing and make sure your arse is water tight. i have even got some work from doing this so its not so bad

Local bat groups often keep local records of known roosts. Check with your site with them.

That should be good advice, but the 1 drawback, often bat group's are ran by nutters (used to be in 1 until i couldn't stand it any longer) so might depend on the individual/group but i'd imagine they would definately erring on the side of caution and could easily put the job on hold until late spring/summer times when bats move into the summer roosts which are often trees.

Really only way is dawn/dusk emergent study's to see bats either coming out or going into the roost/trees.

Plus many in bat groups are just generally against folk felling trees full stop anyway so once they get involved may make life harder.
