Saturdays Job

Saturday's job. Oak takedown. Took most of the weight off the crown, then over it came. Waiting for the video of the fell. Will post as soon as i get it(from the client).

Went through 2 x 24" chains, 2 x 18" chains and 1 12" chain. Have never experienced a tree with so much steel in it. Came across, Cheshire fencing rails, bolts and loads of 6" nails.

Client was very nice, made us a full cooked breakfast and offered to pay for my damaged chains. Some people are great.

Cheers guys. Had a young guy who wanted to experience work as a groundie. Was very excited to have the chance of watching the job. Spent half an hour with him and my main Groundie, explaining all the risks, H&S etc. He went very quiet when he saw a 12" chain flying through the air towards the field and even quieter when I asked him to go and find it as the farmer would not have been too pleased if his cows injured themselves on it. Great job though, thanks for the comments
