Hi all just an update . I have just done my first week in my new job .

I have had a wonderfully week . I have been working on the motorway doing Clarence we have been for most of the week on a long stretch of thick bramble and blackthorn .I have been working on a 3 person team . 2 chaps and myself 1 lass .

The day begain by cutting into the brambles to get to the hawthorn trees then pulling them out and up the bank heading for the other lad on the chipper. Its great you get to have a go at all the different jobs and and everyone helps each other all the time .

The job keeps you nice and fit and you feel really good at the end of the day knowing you have put in a good days graft

My first week has been great my first day worries are long gone and they were pleased with me and have asked me back for more so am just delighted .

looking forward to week 2

Still smiling loving every minute of it . :001_smile: The first week in this game either makes you or brakes you . Most last a couple of days and are gone . The first 2 days are the hardiest as when you are new in ,you don't know what to expect plus you have to really prove yourself as on team you all have to pull the same workload you cannot have one that not pulling the same as the others if you no good you will know very quickly about it and its game Over .

.After the first 2 days if you are still in it then gets much better as you then you understand how the day unfolds and learn how the lads operate the pace you have to work at ,when you stop ,go eat ,drink, take the chippings away etc. You very quickly become accepted into the team if you work hard . In a week I learned so much its a whole new ball game in Clarence work .

Looking forward to week 2 . I went out and got some thick long gauntlet gloves so the thorns wont stand a chance of getting one up on me this week .
