You need a chest harness for the Hitch Hiker.

The HH is a perfectly designed device but the rope and hitch cord choice is critical.

Make sure you have a cord that suits your rope perfectly. Also be sure to experiment with hitch tightness as this also makes the difference between awful and excellent.

I hate chest harnesses, normally climb on an old edelrid tree magic which sits just right, as soon as I'm off the rope I don't notice it

I personally found it too heavy and too much drag to work with the neck tether, also I could not tie the climbing knot loose enough for my liking. Not sure why the RW was hitting you in the face
