Morning All,

Can I have your interpretation of GTW.. So if a vehicle is a 3.5t'er and it's plated to 7t and you are towing a 1.3t chipper, can you then load the vehicle up to a max of 7t (incl towing thingy) or are you limited to the vehicle being a max of 3.5t, plus whatever your towing so long as it doesn't exceed the plate.

Can we go definitive on this and what's your qualification. Haha

Cheers..

It will be self explanatory on your plating certificate - GVW (gross vehicle weight), and GTW Gross train weight. Dont exceed either, or else its go to jail, do not pass GO, do not collect £200.

Let me get this straight.

You are proposing a scenario where a vehicle plated at 3.5 tonnes gross can be loaded to double that by hitching a trailer up?

Nice trick if you could.

No because you would exceed the GVW

Thought as much.

Too good to be true really.. I suppose putting on a set of really light chip box boards on would help. Any ideas, as 8, 8x4 marine ply boards add a bit to the weight. Grp- marine backed?
