At 22 you've got a long time to do lots of things. I've been climbing for 38 years and have got fed up many times....none more so than now.

 

I love my hedge laying and there's plenty of that to do from Oct - March. One or two lady hedge layers about now too. A friend of mine is busy maintaining and doing renovation work on horse paddocks.

 

I make wooden household pieces from salvaged timber, old oak fence posts and unusual shaped branches etc.

 

Another friend retrained as a saddler and makes good money too.

 

Farriery? Thatching? Coppice working?
