Well i have ordered the low profile chain and bar anyway so we will see how get on.

I was torn between the two makes on offer. Have always ran the oregon prolite bars without much trouble so was inclined to stick with a brand i know but in the end took a punt with the sugi equivalent, was a little cheaper as well.

Time will tell if i made the right choice!

If you obtained a Sugihara bar & a name chain cheaper than the equiv Oregon then in my opinion you are on to a winner, a sugi bar is better longer lasting than Oregon bars A Stihl PS chain/Sugi Bar is the F1 set up in the saw worldin my opinion

Yeah oiling fine and I had been greasing the bar regularly. It had had no impact on the nose. Even the standard husqvarna bar lasted longer and they are made of cottage cheese. Bit peed off as that saw is now out of action and I have to send the bar back to chainsaw bars. Co.uk so they can assess it before I can get a replacement not overly impressed by the situation to be fair.

We use Sugi Bars on Husky 3120's in a commercial logging set up & in over 5 years of work with this combo have never suffered a tip failure. Could I ask if you pinched the bar? that & not greasing the tip as per the Sugi info is the only thing that would cause a failure I'm sure if it's a manufacturing fault possible as it's a bit of mechanical kit it will be sorted
