Iveco 18t towing electrics

Been checking out the wiring for my towing electrics and found an existing 24v to 12v box at the back of the chassis. Wired the new towing socket in to it and nothing works.

Followed the wires into another box where the lighting wires come in, but they all seem to be yellow and blue so don't know what does what without a lot of testing!

Is this normal?

Cheers...Al

If your trailers will take 24v it would be easier to wire it off the light cluster. That's what I did when I fitted my tow bar initially.

Then I took it to the iveco main dealer to get the dropper fitted, which took them 2 weeks and cost a flipping fortune. It works perfectly with filament bulbs, just not with leds.

Just a warning the colour coding and pin arrangement of 12v 7 pin plugs and 24v 7 pin plugs is completely different

And i couldnt find anywhere only a conversion chart took hours of changing wires to get it sorted

I've not noticed any difference over the years. Wire colours have always been the same.

I think what dent is on about Al is the seven pin Suzie plug on trucks vs the seven "N" type used on cars.
