Hi

During the week I am employed as a climber, but on weekends I am trying to drum up my own tree work

What insurance cover do I need. I was thinking sole trader public liability

Is this correct?

Who are the best insurance companies to try?

Thanks

Kev

Tell insurer ( in writing) exactly what needs covering

Stops them wriggling when you make a claim

An insurance policy is a "contract of utmost good faith" so you have to be 100% honest when you take it out .....but if you've told em your covered ...unless they say no

You don't NEED any unless you have someone helping you, in which case you need Employers Liability Compulsory Insurance (ELCI)

What SHOULD you have? well public liability would be a good idea because if you get it wrong you could end up selling the house to cover the damage.

Insurance aside have you spoken with your current employer about your additional work? If you are competing in the same market place with the same services I imagine you are going to run into some problems sooner rather than later.
