Stihl 075

Now i know many have posted on the 075..truth is i am not interested in anything other than a great saw for milling...with a Alaskan mill...i have found what seems to be a 075 in excellent condition for 700$..and i'm still sketchy...being this sight has the absolute most up to date professionals and users of these saws...i would very much appreciate any personal experience and or opinions on whether or not to buy a old used supposedly excellent shape...saw...is it worth the risk...??

New Dolmar 7910 Chainsaw

Just loving the new Dolmar 80cc 7910 chainsaw.... Having just done my CS32 qualifications the chainsaw was awesome... It chewed through the tree trunks like it was going out of fashion... It was a bit heavy when throwing it about for snedding and a 60cc Dolmar 6100 might be better for doing that... But I guess that I will have to just get used to it and toughen up..? dead sycamore

Hello My first post to the world of tree people and tree artists all and I would like your advice please.   I trimmed the sycamore in the photo about June last year just before the drought and it reacted very poorly. Specifically I removed any  dead branches of which there weren't that many of any size. There was a hefty branch that had broken off and I merely removed it without a live cut. How's the 500i working out for you

So after all the hype, how are people getting on with the 500i (if you've gone and got one)?   I've had min for a week now and I am super impressed and could easily throw it around all day without fatigue with some brilliant power.  I would say that whilst people have compared it to the 661, it's not as powerful and for me won't replace it but instead compliment it.

What should you have at the top of your Tree Shopping List?!

What should you have at the top of your Shopping List when you are sourcing trees from any UK nursery?!   Answer:-   Ask the Supplier for a copy of their Biosecurity Policy.  They should be able to give you a unique reference number per tree from which an audit trail will verify from where the tree was sourced and how long it has been in the UK.   Trees imported into the UK should have at least one full year - all the growing seasons - on a UK nursery to ensure any

Tip site requirements

Looking at opening up as a tip site and looking for advice. what Licences etc do you need and anything else to be aware of? Majority will be used as bedding through the winter then put into the slurry lagoon.   Access etc is great and can easily take arctic wagons so that side is all good.

Chainsaw carving help

We run a small charity which has acquired a 16 acre sit in Dunblane. The sit is for the enjoyment of all, its a wild area with a number of new paths, woodland and grasses. A few large trees (mainly beeches) have been cut down, and we would like to create some natural seating for people. We thought each of the local schools could take one on a design project with simple motifs etc, we would then like to hit each carved.
