I am sorry if I am on the wrong site, but I have searched the internet without success for an answer.

My question is, that I have lived here for 25 one of the previous owners with my neighbour used some bird poo with a berry into my apple tree. So the mistletoe could well be over 40 odd years old. I always tell people that comment on it that it is male and never has berries.

	UNTIL……..I noticed some last week.
I suspect this is unusual and more to the point how could it have happened. ?

I have a couple of bird houses in the tree and lots of tiny birds frequent it. ( In the past they were blue tits, but I think it is a different species at the moment )

I’m a 21 tree surgeon based in north wales, and was doing perimeter clearance on a Scottish power substation in Kirby on the 29/5/25. My saw was stolen in the time of the team unloading kit and looking at the job no more than 70 meters away. The saw was purchased this January so looks fairy new and has the initial HGJ on both the handle and top casing. Just thought I would put it out on here if anyone comes across it. Cheers Harri Glyn

I have ordered a rotating grab to fit my Kubota kx027-4 , I plan to run the grapple from the existing auxiliary pipes working off the foot pedal and then the rotate from the boom slew with manual valves fitted. I see that Alandurrant in 2021 fitted a similar system to his Kubota, I would appreciate any advice on valve fitting and slowing the speed of rotation. Thanks

Hi, I'm considering buying a house that has several large mature trees in the garden. I'm no expert but I think the three in the front are a chestnut, a holm oak and a copper beech - the latter 2 are within 5m of the property. At the end of the back garden there's what looks like a multi stemmed scots pine.

Could anyone give me some advice? - My concerns are whether they are likely to cause damage to the property ( I know insurance may be more) and how much and how frequent maintenance would be. They are in a group TPO area, should I just rule this property out or are they going to be manageable? ( Or will sweeping up leaves, acorns, chestnuts and pine cones drive me nuts?!!)

	Greetings to all here

For the last 11 years, I have been living in Maribor, which is the 2nd largest city in Slovenia country in Europe. Despite currently being 50 years old I decided to develop myself as an arborist. In my younger years, our family loved to mountaineer. After my father started our family business my job was computer-related related and I kept my balance by regular visits to the woods. In the year 2000, I decided to become a freelancer, focused on creative graphic & web design, and professional photography. However since it was early spring and my new home was surrounded with houses that had unpruned fruit trees and vines, I saw a business opportunity. I acquired knowledge about pruning, purchased necessary tools, went door to door, and offered my neighbors to prune their trees and vines. Pruning trees was a great combination of being in the sun, connected with nature and physical activity. However, I was only pruning small trees using ladders.

During the years I focused more on photography, psychology, and spirituality and stopped offering pruning. Right before the plandemic I wanted to start a Life Coaching business however, the World War conflicted with my plan. I joined groups where we made an effort to stop the human genocide until we were successful. I am still active in groups that continue to remove the remains of evil from this world. However, I was tired of sitting in a room while listening to the problems of others. I needed a more physically active lifestyle outdoors. Taking walks along the bank with trees of the nearby Drava river was my favorite daily relaxation method. I noticed that regularly branches of trees started to sag or protrude towards the walking path and that the assigned public company did not prune plants frequently enough.

So I started to take hand pruners on my walks and made some pruning on my own for free. Eventually, I realized that I enjoy pruning very much and I wondered how would it be if someone would pay me for such services. I contacted the company that maintained city trees and landscaping companies asking if they would want to employ me. However since no one offered me a job, I decided to develop myself as an arborist. In the year 2022, I started to experiment with pruning larger trees and learned how to climb using ropes and how to fall trees. In June of that year, I created an additional YouTube channel titled Arborist Valentin where I began to post short documentary videos that show the progress of my development. There are now about 50 videos there and all are welcome to watch them, like, and subscribe:
This year I got so busy that I did not have sufficient time and energy to produce new videos. So I only document every project with photos that I then publish on my Facebook page that you are also welcome to visit and like:

In the past 2 years, I attended many courses and joined national and international professional organizations. I have them listed on my website and you are welcome to take a look:

With 2 years of experience, I am now a pretty skilled tree climber and am additionally learning with goals to become an ISA Certified Tree Climber, ISA Certified Arborist, EAC Tree Worker, and EAC Tree Technician. My next steps are learning tree bracing and cabling, heavy rigging, tree planting, and tree diagnostics.

Tree Hugger Tree Felling Video where we get laughed at by Chewbacca

Easy tree felling in Middletown Ohio. Notch it and drop it. It's all fun and games until someone laughs at you.

Tip: Make sure your using a good fuel and gas mix and that the gas isn't stale. If you notice starting and running issues, replace the mix and notice the difference. If you don't your liable to get laughed at by Chewbacca, Sasquatch or the guy from the Geico commercial.

I am 37, I have worked on farms and have used saw mills, chainsaws, axes, and have worked with carpenters. I work hard and just want to get to work cutting work. Please let me know if you or anyone you know is looking for a reliable working hand.

Small update on my career change.

I never know if anyone cares but here I am...

So if you remember i popped a post up weeks ago asking for advice on getting in to the industry, the comment section turned in to a total sh#t show of

	'Don't do it'

	'Its not for women'

	'you're to weak'

	'Don't need women on site'

	Etc etc

But anyway, didnt put me off.

I've booked on for my cs30 in 2 weeks' time (sooner that orginally planned) and after sending out a bunch of emails looking for work experience, a guy has given me a chance, and I had my first day yesterday.

He was impressed with my work ethic and hes recommended me to another guy who's offered me 2 further days work.

So actually all is going great, the guy I worked with on the first day was excellent.

Was happy to stop often and teach me as we were going and in return I worked my socks off.

We (he) felled a tree and I cleared the ground, shifted tools, ran the chipper and did general ground stuff.

It was a great day and I learnt alot and at no point did I feel my sex was a barrier.

Hi, we have just moved to a new property which has 23 trees with TPO, we have come from small garden so no experience with them. Visit from tree surgeon says either remove or take 4 meters off the 20 Lawson Cypress trees as they are very small girth trunks, very spindly and some have U shape trunks. I have tried to read up on them and everything says that it won’t cause them to strengthen. Before I apply for permission, would value opinions?

Also, any ideas what causes this on hedge and what to do about it please?

I would rather save/ see trees grow more healthy than take them down.

	Many thanks
