I think it's prudent to be cautious on which species of Ganoderma it is.

Only spore size under microscope will differentiate between applanatum and australe.

 

The reiterative rooting looks interesting.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Kretzschmaria deusta was also colonising that side of the tree.

Ill advise the client of the identification and helpful input.

 

By the size of the bracket/ and there is 2 straight lines on the top (looks like somebody has previously been removing the suckers with a silky) how long has it been there?

 

I think the previous occupants of the property knew it was there as it had been pollarded a few years ago!
