multi tool repair and replacement

I've been using a titan multi tools cheapo jobby from screwfix for the last couple of years. It's done me well and paid for itself quite a few times over so was perfect for me starting out. Probably time to replace it though and upgrade to a decent one.

I would like to get the titan going again though as it might be good as a back up. It was running ok on the job but just started spluttering when revving and occasionally cutting out. When i've got back it seems to cut out when you tilt it to the side or upside down. The filters ok and immersed in the fuel. Any ideas what it could be?

With regard to replacement i've been looking through old threads and I'm thinking of opting for a Stihl KM94 but as i can't get it delivered i may go for the echo PAS265 instead. I've heard good things about both but what are your thoughts?

the last titan piece of crap that we got from screwfix had the fuel pipes round the wrong way and the thing would only run until half a tank then cut out try that as i don't think the quality control dept works many days in the titan factory i think it could possibly be every fifth full moon he may turn up just buy the echo fab engineered pieces

The KM94 should be fine as it's not a 4-mix. I've got the Echo and it's a nice solid power unit - less plastics than the Stihl but i've found both Stihl and Echo hedge cutter attachment not being super reliable (yes, i do grease them). They both should last a good few years before bearing or con-rods go and then it's a couple hundred for a new cutting head.

We've had trouble with husky pro gear to prove any make can be wrong. I've had faultless Chinese gear but I wouldn't say it was better than husky. Its just the luck of the draw. Better the name the better chance you have, simple as that.
