Lewis Winch

Hello all, not sure where to post this request?

 

Im looking to buy a used Lewis Winch but they seem to be thin on the ground here in the UK.

 

I have agreed to buy one in the US but it is missing the Drive Chain for the Saw and it does not seem easy to get one here. He's willing to cancel the auction but before I do does anyone know if there is any for sale in the UK?

 

Including shipping am already over £500 and then I'll have tax on top of that.

Have you tried wj green? I bought mine from them.

Depends on which clutch you have on your saw. With a inboard clutch, I don't think you need a drive chain. Could be wrong though

A new Winch is £900 which is way more than I have right now or even this summer.

 

The Saw will still need to drive the Winch so a chain is still needed to turn the Winch.

Mine runs on a 372xp with no drive chain.

Ok, I have never used one so I could be wrong but how does the saw transfer power to the winch without a Chain Drive? The Winch Im thinking of buying must be an old design maybe?

Its a direct drive from the winch to the saw. Mines about 7 years old. Do a search for lewis winch outboard drive. I'm sure they all fit regardless of age.There is also a youtube video of how to attach to saw. If your using an inboard clutch such as a 346xp,then you will need the chain drive.
