Scam TrekkaSaw on ebay

A nice Trekkasaw sold a month or two back from someone in Woking. Completely identical auction from someone with zero feedback based in Shetland is up at the moment.

I've reported it, it's well worth ignoring or pestering them with questions. Where they found 4ft chestnut on Shetland is probably the first one

Does anyone regularly use a Trekkasaw? Any chance of finding out the hydraulic motor specs, pump spec and tank capacity? I might get round to bolting together a hydraulic drive Stenner resaw and think that the Trekka specs would be a good starting point.

Try contacting Robin Carter @ " Timber Resources", based in Liphook, he will know all you have asked, he might divulge the info. Failing that,Marcus or Graham @ Loglogic, but as the current manufacturers they might be reluctant, but both top top blokes...

Not any more, no coordination in the arms, kept winding one handle wrongly

It may be worth asking the recently retired founder of Fuelwood, he worked on them when they operated out of Atkins (Sp?) quarry near Betchworth. The son in law of the old man that took the business on from Paul Elsey also worked on them and ran one out of Ockley.

 

From what I remember they were pretty basic, an open circuit 3P series pump driven by a ruggerini and solenoid operated spool valve. This powered a similar sized motor with 2 bolt sae flange and standard 9?? tooth spline coupling direct into the drive pulley wheel.

 

I still remember Paul shouting to me up an ash tree in Greendene to ask if he could have the stem to try his new invention on, around 1983 I guess.
