We've got the man himselff coming to have a look at a couple of our trees next week. All very interesting stuff, but I'm not sure how much of a future thermal imaging of trees has got because, to me, it seems overly dependant on user interpretation.

I'm awaiting a report from Andrew on three Trees he came and thermed for us a few weeks back.

Really intrigued to see the results on a Veteran twin stemmed Wild Service which has Compaction, Ustulina & Ganoderma issues.

Most definately useful, but I'm finding that the more I can re-visit the tech and the users experience, the more it is becoming clear.

I sat through another Andrew road show at yesterdays trade fair, and had a few more of the layers of interpretation stripped away.

( can't believe that the seminar was so poorly attended, especially as it was free )

I can see how the holistic approach to assess a trees vitality, is far more important than a mere snap shot of one plain of a trees structure (ie picus etc...)

I think that signing up to this as part of a strategy, along side more traditional methods would be aspiring towards a complete management package.

Missed the Vet Tree one due to the need to slake a wee thirst, but caught his protected wildlife, which was insightful, the man certainly has a keen understanding & passion for fluffy flying things.

An interesting debate on SNCA's inability to provide expertice in advising & helping to steer around what is a tricky minefield, in Arb/Bat interaction.

Hats off to Andrew for giving his time to events like this, obviously there's an endgame for him, but he certainly does the legwork.
