We have a stand of poplar trees ( about 3/4 of an acre.) originally planted under contract with Bryant & May for matches. First felled in 1985/6 with a natural regeneration clause in the felling licence. They are ready to come down and we have a felling licence dated July 2020. I was expecting them to go for biomass and I am led to believe there is about 200 tons of timber. Anybody interested in purchasing ? -mid/ east Essex

Hello, We have a 15 hectare mixed broadleaf woodland in West Dorset (ash, oak, cherry, lime, field maple). Trees are 13 years old (ash have done best) and we want to start thinning. We have a licence. It is a flat site, the trees are in blocks accessed by wide rides. Does anyone have an idea of the price for standing timber in this area? Or would it be financially worthwhile to do the work ourselves and sell cord wood to a firewood contactor? Thanks

I work for a local authority as a ranger, in South Bucks nr Slough. We have some lime coppice which would benefit from being recut (lots of stems from established stools, though many are only about 10cm diameter) and some Wellingtonia rings sitting on the floor with no particular use. I am trying to find out if there would be much demand for either of these things. Please get in touch if you are interested. I can easily get dimensions etc. if it looks like it is going to be worth it. Thanks, Matt
