  1. Refreshing ones knowledge is a daily occurrence for regular cutters. We all like to keep up to date with new equipment and rules so I just think paying for the luxury seems like money for old rope. After all the job doesn't change just the way the rules are to keep money coming in for the trainers ....
  2. Shoot it repeatedly with a shotgun until it breaks up
  3. No reason for a clutch to fly off without the bar attached unless it's not fitted correctly
  4. Throw a hook over it from the bank then drag it off. I wouldn't even get my boot damp clearing that...
  5. Rubbish
  6. If it's advisory then surely it's not a legal requirement if the qualifications are for life..….?
  7. They will soon double the tax on everything. They probably just missed a slight technical issue so it will go through soon enough One company here has over 60 double cab pick ups used for shopping and leisure activities when not at work by the staff...
  8. Oil leaks out from behind the bar when sat on the bench. When it's not running and left so I'm wondering if the oil tank feed pipe has become detected in some way. Guess I'll find out when I take it apart

  10. All early Discovery's and most classic range rover use the same kit as defender if they are manually gearboxes. Axles etc brakes etc Easy to get a trailer rated to 4000kg gross weight. There are 12 models produced by land rover upto 1998 that have a 4000kg towing capacity
  11. So legally it's advisory? Seems like just guidance to me from what I can read. My ute tickets have expired but I don't intend to do any of that malarkey anyway... I guess I'll see how my new employer takes up what I've presented lol.
  12. You will have to get an old discovery or range rover from the mid to late 90s in order to get the 4000kg model. Not many around
  13. Firewood it and plant something in its place
  14. Well a fairly light use 345 is chucking out chain oil . Is there a pipe or something that comes off. This saw has done at best 25hrs work. It leaks oil out when sat on the bench. I don't really use it much as it's a back up but would like to stop it's incontinence..
  15. I think I would just shelf it and buy a new saw
  16. Yeah. I got offered a large amount of money for it recently but I can't buy anything new to replace it. It's just ideal for work. Pretty tidy and it's all defender running gear so parts such as wheel bearings are still available. Just rebuilt the engine last year at 200k miles and it's running sweet. They built them as a special edition when the land rover was at war with the Hilux over capacity. It was a British eff u to them. If you can find one they did the same with the last MK1 discovery and also gave them a 4000kg tow capacity. Commercial vehicles nailed together in Solihull from girders...😂
  17. My 1998 range rover TDI is far more reliable than any of the import double cabs and just keeps going on and on and on .... It has out lasted Navara, rodeo, dmax, ranger and Hilux by far which all have had complex problems. It's simple , strong and above all ultimately cheap to run. Alongside the 4000kg towing capacity it's great off road. It just can't be beaten for work by anything double cab at all, I've tried.
  18. A range rover will do all of that and has far more class being the executioner of all witches.
  19. Well do the NPTC tickets expire? I'm curious as it seems to be an advisory to refresh not a requirement.... Anyone????
  20. I think double cab pick up drivers and owners are witches . These were traditionally burned at the stake or drowned in the village pond. To me this seems like the best option for such vehicles as there about as much use as a wet hedgehog that's been run over multiple times.
  21. Yeah some of the Japanese kit is ok TBF
  22. I find it better to use an old range rover. Best tow wagon around and great off-road. Cheap enough tax etc etc etc
  23. I've not seen one of those ( and it's not German)
  24. Hello. I have brought possibly the lightest saw I've ever seen
