  1. Employment insurance is fair enough given the general srare of employees these days. Going out as a two man team each taking a good 3 figure sum each day with all liability standing squarely on the shoulders of the customer is a much better way to work. Customer is invoiced individually by each worker on the same terms. Don't be neglegent and work smart. It's simple effective and as for the tree waiting for cash yes but always look and price accordingly. Raise an invoice and customer signs wavier agreement. I'll carry on working like this as it's been fine for plenty of years .
  2. Loving those tiny battery saws. Ideal for tucking in your pocket at the night club... Top handle saw budget is zero as I have one but it's very tired... So it will be a second saw but lead working equipment...
  3. That's funny
  4. Amazon.co.uk WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK i use one of these for bits. Well handy for climbing kit
  5. Start with a tractor and forwarder operation then move up from there Forest Machinery Operations (FMO) TKFTRAINING.CO.UK Forestry Machinery Operations Courses including tractor driving, 4x4 Off road driving, All terrain vehicles (Sit In an Sit Astride) Dumper Truck Rigid Body up to 50 Tonne something like that is a good place to start
  6. It's money for old rope. It's not a legal requirement and in no way are you responsible for any damages that may occur if the customer agrees to it. Defence of a fraudulent claim against is easy you just tell them to 8ugger off. Don't pay solicitors Don't pay fraudulent insurance premiums Don't work for people who think it's necessary. Job quotes are 30% or so less and if you are not Vat registered that way the customer wins. This results in steady well paid work without the bullplop of all the bits of paper that may as well be blank for what you pay out these days.
  7. Lol £100 for a topa lol lol

  10. I just need something reliable with a decent amount of time per tank of fuel or battery. Having to buy extra batteries is expensive so why bother when I can get petrol in a big can. Not bothered about noise and fumes it's tree cutting ffs They seem very expensive really and don't appear to be good value
  11. They don't like American much
  12. Stick an electric powered hydraulic pump on it . easy enough to do that with some wires and some hoses.
  13. Yup. Tool insurance is bad. I have some kit that could be replaced every few years at the cost of insurance so I just don't bother. Had kit go over the years so I'm not living in a perfect world but seriously to be competitive on prices and maintain work coming in its just not viable. Customers understand when you say to them no comeback on any damages and don't work in public areas where the stupid appear for a look up the tree and crack on ...
  14. So smashing out big cypress trees then stick to petrol? I get the idea that quietly trimming some fruit trees would be good but I don't think they are for me then. I'll stay on petrol.
  15. Seriously. It's not a legal requirement
  16. Two blank links
  17. Why bother with insurance. Just tell the customer your not insured and price the job accordingly. After all people want stuff done cheap these days so why bother....
  18. Ooops Yes I ment is the 220 a good petrol replacement? I don't see how a battery an do a good days work without charging it. Fuel is cheap and easy where as extra batteries are expensive and you need a charge up point?
  19. Are the leccy top handles any good? Heavy off Ballance or similar to the old petrol machine? Is the husky better at the moment?
  20. Well there we go then. No other forums mentioned and a link suggested grinder Which I don't think I will look up. As for pink/purple it's definitely a benders cup.. Anyone got any links to big tool sites like dumpers and forwarders?
  21. Get machine tickets, not much manual forest work these days. Go big...
  22. Pink cup band and German vehicle.. Typical bender chipper buttski giver 😄
  23. Well there you go then, chipper bitches and benders along with the odd alcoholic from the isle of wight 🤣 on a plus note I did fix my oil pump leak on my husky so no more puddles in the back of the wagon
  24. So the usual thing then... A private forum for benders and non descript tattooed chipper bitches.. Any other stuff out there worth reading? 😁
