  1. Thanks for your kind replies! I'm hoping the bottle-jack method will work. When the trim was 'trimmed' the wood was cut up into decent sizes for removing. I guess this was sold on to someone else to re-sell. Does anyone know how much the wood is worth? Very funny the Hogweed suggestion! 😁 Thanks again for those who replied. 👌🙏
  2. Thanks for all the replies to the following link re My Eucalyptus tree dying. /https://arbtalk.co.uk/forums/topic/134489-eucalyptus-tree-dying-off-after-pollarding/#comments It’s not spring yet…still, I’m sure that my tree has finally had it. 😪 I just need some advice as to how to remove it without too much fuss. I’ve read that the root system can be quite shallow. Can this be lifted out…or would it require stumping then grinding out? Any idea of what the costs could be? The land along side this tree gets very waterlogged, any suggestion as to what to plant as a replacement? Also, any recommendations as to who could do this work locally at a reasonable price? ( Bury Lancs) Thanks!
  3. A year January I had my huge beautiful Eucalyptus tree reduced due to being to close to house. Sadly, it seems to be dying off. I may have made a mistake in allowing it to have such a harsh reduction.. Anyone hopeful that it may recover this year ? Many thanks!
  4. I am a little confused on this site. Thank you to all who have offered much appreciated advice and perspective. 🤩🙏👍🥳
  5. How interesting! Perhaps it been the prolonged heat we've had. 🤔 Thank you so much for your kind reply.
  6. I have to agree. Thank you for your kind response. 👍
  7. Thank you for your kind reply. I really appreciate! I think your comments echo what I am thinking too. I am gutted, though I do think that neighbour has damaged the roots somewhere along the line. It is literally next to the decking. He is quite arrogant and didn't even mention anything to me. Which from what I've read...its always a good idea to talk to your neighbour. Especially when you put raised decking in waaay above the legal requirement. Now I have a privacy issue, they can see right into my home. (Sorry! Totally off topic 🙄 ) Thanks again for taking the time to respond. 😁🙏
  8. Hi, newbie here. My new new neighbours put in decking, without mentioning to me prior to doing. This was waayy higher than council limit. Anyhow, one of my beautiful tall conifers soon went brown. I had this removed and tried to put it out of my mind as to what caused this over 30 year old conifer to die. Now the other beautiful conifer looks to be dying. What are the chances of two dying? Can I save it ? Can I make a claim against neighbour.? They were both growing happily in same corner of garden where the decking was installed. Thank for any comments. 🙂
