  1. Only 2 different types of logs there. thanks for the ID. It’s a beautiful golden colour
  2. Chopped a couple up, looked the same outside, very different inside!
  3. So I picked up some of the logs…. what have we here? Birch. Cherry. Eucalyptus. Poplar. anything else spotted? no idea what the light straight one is on top.
  4. Thanks. I’ll try and grab some then. Think he has silver birch too, but even I can identify that 😂
  5. The council were clearing the bottom 2 today. Top one was given to me a year ago by a neighbour who was moving.
  6. Seems like my best shot. The wilted leaves start by going a frosty white, then they wilt and dry out until they are dead. Only takes a couple of days I think.
  7. quite like that idea, not sure how well it would work. i assume it all goes to the local refuse site, that’s a complicated place now.
  8. So I need to find some ladybirds
  9. Images added @peds @Stere
  10. Haha not sure where to find any type of ladybird if I’m honest
  11. Thanks for the advice. I’ll see what I can find. Also have a tree that possibly needs a trim too.
  12. Yes, it looks very much like wooly aphids. I’ll try and find some photos I took of it last year, but would say that is what the tree has. Is there any cure for it?
  13. We are fed up with supermarket and garden centre logs. Would like to get some real hard wood but not sure where to source it from. Ive created a drop off point on here but see a few in the area so not holding much hope for it. Any suggestions would be great. we are Romford/Brentwood area.
  14. Last spring our fully blossomed apple tree all of a sudden lost lots of its blossom and some of the branches and leaves went a frosty white before dying. Also noticed patches of white fluff in places on the tree. we sprayed the tree a few times with anti fungal but it kept coming back all summer. We have had nothing through the winter but suspect it will return in the spring. Is there a way of treating this lovely tree? edit: images added.
